As a netbook, HP’s Mini 2140 isn’t the cheapest way to go, but it’s an attractive option. It has a great keyboard, a very nice case, and an impressive battery life.

The HP Mini 2140 keeps everything we loved about the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC—the sturdy aluminum shell, the comfortable keyboard, the compact dimensions—and fixes its shortcomings (SuSe Linux OS, smallish screen). The result is as near a perfect netbook...

The HP Mini 2140 is a very solid netbook that offers an amazing keyboard instead of something condensed that might be difficult to type on for extended periods of time.... Our big complaint with this model is the glossy plastic layer over the display, which adds glare and created a trap for dust.

“ExpressCard and SD media reader slots. Amazing battery life. Exceptional design aesthetics. Loaded with features trickling down from higher-end laptops. TIRED: Touchpad too far south; flush design means fingers keep slipping off the bottom. Side-mounted buttons still too awkward for extended use. More expensive than a netbook should be.
