"Other options include the extremely useful customisable Green Button, which can be used as an auto-everything Idiot Mode button (the default setting) or as a quick access button for a range of user-selected options, useful for more experienced users."
Simple press of the green button activates the Green mode, even beginning photographers can enjoy taking pictures with ease.

"While the W60 is lacking the ultimate punchiness of [other cameras] here, it’s still a fair result overall, especially for a waterproof model."
"The W60’s overall image quality is quite good, although it does have a couple of issues. The level of detail is very good, performing as well as any good 10MP compact, and the relatively low compression at the highest quality setting (average file size 3.4MB) produces very few artefacts."
"Image quality of our outdoor images was very pleasing…. The Optio W60 performs just as well indoors as is did out. The exposures are very good and colors are very realistic with natural skin tones."

"Part of the reason for this slightly sluggish performance is the autofocus system, which is quite slow, taking around a second to focus even in good light. It is even slower in low light or at telephoto zoom settings, but it does focus well even in very low light, despite the absence of an AF assist lamp."

"The movie mode offers 320x240 and 640x480 modes at 15 or 30fps, or an HD option at 1280x720, albeit at a jerky 15fps which makes it unsuitable for fast action or pans."
"The quality of the video in 640x480 (30fps) mode is very good. The exposures are good and the video runs very smoothly. The camera also did a descent job when recording audio, however, any loud noises or yelling that takes place too close to the camera ends up being distorted. The HD mode also produced good results."

"This water and dust resistance also makes it appropriate for use on the beach or ski slopes… There’s also concerns over the protective lens cover. On the upside, there’s no moving parts to clog with dust or sand, but while it seems pretty scratchproof, what happens if you do manage to mark it?"
"[The camera] operates in extreme temperatures as cold as 14 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 10 degrees Celsius)."
"The camera couldn’t have got much wetter if I’d taken it SCUBA diving, and was also bounced around for two days in the pocket of my jacket.... It survived completely intact to take some pretty decent pictures, and after a quick rinse under a tap was none the worse for its experience, which is more than can be said for my jacket."

"The Optio W60 is powered by a small 680mAh Lithium Ion battery pack and is supplied with a recharger; Pentax claims the battery is good for 205 shots under CIPA conditions, but in use underwater (particular with colder temperatures) it can be sapped quite quickly."
"The rechargeable battery provided us with enough power to capture about 100 images and several videos before needing to be recharged. I was not able to complete all of the tests before I had to recharge, which was a bit disappointing."
