The Samsung Vibrant gave us nothing to complain about on the talking or receiving end of the phone. Its noise cancellation and call quality rivaled the iPhone 4.
Call quality on the T-Mobile network here was...mostly fine, with some cases where 3G would just drop out completely for Edge or no connection at all.... Calls were fine otherwise, with clear voice quality on both ends.
In our testing, callers informed us that we came through clear on the Vibrant, and sound was good on our end. Unlike the iPhone 4, we didn't notice any degradation of signal loss no matter which way we held the device.
Sound in the earpiece is excellent.... But transmissions through the microphone, while they lack background noise thanks to the Audience voice processor, sounded hollow and echoey at times.
Call quality was excellent. The audio on our side of the conversation was clear and rich with little to no background noise or voice distortion. We also had no problem using an airline's voice-automated response system. Our friends were also complimentary of the call quality and didn't report any major problems or complaints.

T-Mobile doesn’t have its own video store, so included viewing options are limited to YouTube and the subscription-based MobiTV..... You’ll want to use earphones to listen to your videos. The Vibrant’s only speaker is the earpiece, which produces only tinny sound, and barely enough volume for private listening in a quiet room.
Needless to say, Avatar looked amazing on the Samsung Vibrant, and that's because of the Super AMOLED screen.
The Vibrant plays an unusually wide range of video formats. Along with the usual standard-def MPEG4 and WMV video, I was pleasantly shocked to find that H.264/AAC and XVID videos played, even high-def 720p files, and that there seemed to be an option for simulated 5.1 surround sound.
Avatar looked amazing on the Vibrant, as did the MP4 videos we loaded onto the device. The 5.1-channel surround sound enhanced the movie-viewing experience, though we preferred to keep it off when just listening to music.
