Sony Reader Daily Edition (PRS-900)
The Sony Reader Daily Edition is at the top of our favorite ebook reader list.
The Daily Edition isn't a mere clone of the Kindle. It has a different design philosophy and is stronger in some areas, weaker in others. In general, I enjoyed using it.
Mix in a touch-screen interface and the Daily Edition's markup and note-taking capabilities and you should have one of the more appealing e-reader options out there, particularly when you factor in the aforementioned elegant design. However, a few shortcomings--including a high $399 price tag--keep this e-reader from truly outclassing the competition.
Sony's first wireless e-book reader, though pricey, offers first-rate newspaper support--but only if AT&T's service cooperates.
The Sony Reader Daily Edition offers a slick design with a touch screen and wireless book downloads, but it suffers from a high price and a dim display that defeats the purpose of E-Ink technology.
It could be we're just so jacked up from a steady diet of Twitter, Facebook and Google Buzz updates that we're unable to grok the Reader's slower, more contemplative pace.
